Who Can Learn Reiki?
Reiki is a unique kind of energy work because everyone can do it!
Reiki does not depend on a person's intellectual or spiritual capacity or state of development. Once a practitioner is Attuned, the healing energy flows through her/his hands (when they are being used for healing).
In workshops, we remember our natural abilities to heal with Reiki.
Positive life force energy is all around us and we all share it everyday to different extents. We share it with ourselves when we feel nauseous and comfort our stomachs with our hands, or when we bump our heads and automatically bring our hands to the injured area. Sharing positive life force energy is instinctual to everyone, but we can learn to share Reiki more effectively in workshops, and with more purity after being Attuned.
Reiki Master-Teachers carry the Reiki healing tradition passed down through an ancient lineage. During workshops, Reiki Master-Teachers (RMT) share attunements to re-align a student's energy with that of positive life force energy.
We are born of positive life force energy!
Reiki is a way for us to continue sharing that creative energy for sustained health. Babies are flowing freely with positive life force energy; it showers us provoking googly admiration from most of us. Over time, however, our energy channels (meridians) become blocked with experiences, pains, and frustrations that we deal with in everyday life. We still retain positive life force energy to some extent, but with clogged meridians, the energy slows down in most of us so that our bodies, minds and spirits find it difficult to flow with loving vibrant energy in abundance everyday.
Why do I need to learn what you say I can already do?
People who have been trained in Reiki practice and attuned to the energy are tuned to a higher frequency than people who have not taken these steps. Being attuned in a Reiki workshops enables you to be more sensitive to feeling the energy and any imbalances. attunements also help create harmony between the body, mind and spirit.
Everyone can learn the hand positions described by Dr. Usui, and although many masters advertise lessons for self-attunements, from my experience I am convinced that Reiki attunements are most effective when shared from a Reiki Master-Teacher in the tradition of Reiki's ancient lineage.
There are now an estimated 500,000 Reiki Masters with as many as 3,000,000 people having been initiated into Reiki throughout the world.
